Please, if there is anyone in the post who has gone to Baker College (Online), I'd like to know what you thought of the school. I've read a few posts but it doesn't seem like Baker College gets a lot of play on these here, even with it being an RA school.

I'm thinking of applying to the school and starting in March '06 for their spring semester. I've spoken with the a few academic advisors from the school as well as the Assistant Admissions Director. All of this has been great and they've all been very helpful and informative, but there is nothing like hearing some feedback from actual students. Are there any out there?

    Thanks

I'm a faculty member at Baker. My overall impressions are positive about the school. They run a competitive program that is reasonable for student to complete.

The program operates with 6 week terms and uses BlackBoard as a delivery tool. Some classes are starting to add video lectures.

Harvard? No - but they are a competitive player as compared to a number of the schools we talk about here.

    Regards - Andy

    Andy,

Thanks for enlightening me. Now when you see the program operates based on a six week term, does this mean a student has 6 weeks to complete each course?

I will be enrolling as a full time student so would this equate to 3 classes per semester? If so, I'd have 6 weeks to complete each class, correct?

Can a student take more than 3 classes per semester via Baker Online for acceleration purposes or is that not an option?

I really can't speak for Baker officially. Classes meet for 6 weeks and they have schedules - e.g. you have to complete specific items on specific days. Most folks take one course at a time and are part-time. I don't know how they would handle a full-time student.

    regards - Andy

    Medgal,

You didn't say what your field of interest is.

I completed the Baker MBA in June 2000. If that is your interest, then PM me for some personal (positive) thoughts on the program.
