  1. Remember good old Dennis Chandler? He's the musician / guitarist guy from Ohio that made a big deal out of how legitimate SRU was. Listed all his degrees (including ones from the equally infamous Almeda College and University) on his web site proudly for the world to see.

Well Dennis' web site is still there.... http://www.dennischandler.com/

But his braggin' about his phony degrees is strangely silent, although he still introduces himself as "Meet D.C. the Ph. D. aka The Edu-tainer, Accompanist, Arranger, Composer, Guitarist, Pianist & Radio Host".

PhD in what? "Life experience" I guess.

He used to go on and on at length about how great his education was, and how he worked so hard - more than 40 years to earn his degree! All from life experience.

I'll say this though - he was/is a very nice guy, just horribly misled or delusional....

Yadda yadda yadda. Another one bites the dust.

    he got his head back

Dennis' body was used as the root stock for several of the SRU head transplants.

That may explain his reluctance to appear on-camera in that CNN interview a year ago: the raw sutures (bolts??) might have given him an alarmingly Frankenstein's-monsterish look.

    John Dovelos jumps ship too

From this DegreeBoard post: "I agree with you that for the time being and, perhaps, permanetly SRU degrees are illegal. For now, I don't claim to have a Ph.D. degree at all, I have even crossed out the title "Ph.D." from my business cards. If this situation is proven to be permanent, there would be naturally no issue of evaluating SRU degrees. "

The title "PhD" has not yet been removed from the faculty roster of Athenium Internastional University Center, however.

I wonder what would happen if the Liberian Ministry of Higher Education were to set up an SRU PhD buy-back program, in the spirit of what's been used as an incentive for guerillas to give up their weapons?

Or option #3: he's part of the conspiracy.

Dennis has also been selected to head up the on-line music department for St. Regis University. He will develop the music degree programs at all academic levels.

Since none of that actually exists, it makes his involvement suspicious to say the least (and something more than 'misled' or 'delusional').

Then there is his involvement with Almeda...
