Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons

A colleague reports that an entity called the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons-US is telling doctors in Ghana that they can get their degrees "accredited" for $300 U.S.

When asked about this scam, the U.S. State Department said it was bogus and that we'd dropped our royal affiliations in 1776.

Has anyone else come across this scam? I think it is based in the upper Midwest somewhere.
