    I decided to start a new thread rather than continue this topic inside the Kennedy-Western topic.

    The only approval to issue degrees that Washington International has is from the British Virgin Islands. It is simply a business license. WIU asserts in its published catalog that it is an international university. Its lawyer says that it does not operate in Pennsylvania, though there is plenty of evidence that it does: buildings, signage, addresses, photos.

    One of the more humorous items is the landscape outside the office, which appears in a window in one of the catalog photos: must have been a record-breaking snow in the British Virgin Islands that year.

    Washington International University has, as far as we can tell, no authority to grant degrees from any legitimate source. It dreamed itself up one day and has been a financial success ever since.
