Who know whether SCUPS got accreditation or not?

    SCUPS

SCUPS got a later start than CCU so I am not sure if it expected to be accredited at this meeting.

If SCUPS doesn't get accredited there is someything wrong as its clone NCU is R/A.

Please list the attributes of SCUPS that make it "the clone" of NCU.
(BTW, I think you're right, there IS someything wrong)

NCU is the clone of SCUPS. I think NCU shared some material with SCUPS. I have no special knowledge, just the expectation that getting one school through accreditation should make the second a breeze.

I also think that there is a bit relationship between them.

I am interested in SCUPS and CCU Master in Psychology program, I've applied for SCUPS in June, yet, CCU couldb't get accreditation for this moment, I hope SCUPS can get it.

Several schools were delayed, CCU is one of them.

I highly doubt that SCUPS got accredited if CCU was delayed.
I think we'll have to wait until....JANUARY! for the next meeting...Gah!

I was thinking of going to CCU for their joint Bachelors/Masters. I'd like to finish a degree much quicker, and the combined option is my best bet.

BTW, aren't you in HK Shirley? Why are you looking for a Psychology Grad Degree anyways? Are you thinking of moving to America or something?

Re: Several schools were delayed, CCU is one of them.

Yes, I am in Hong Kong.

I would like to further my study in Clinical Psychology in Hong Kong, yet, before that, I need to complete either bachelor or master degree in Psychology, I was graduated from The University of Hong Kong, so I don't want to take another same level degree.

It is my greatest wish to complete the master degree in Psychology in CCU, the fee is low and quality is good. I couldn't find another institution with Psychology program with such reasonable fee.

I've browsed NCU, Capella and Walden, they are around USD20000

I know it is quite odd if CCU delay but SCUPS succeed, but I think SCUPS's close relationship with NCU showing that the quality is near.

    Thanks.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I thought that there were many R/A institutions that would not qualify for DETC accreditation.

    Dear Jeff,

What if a SCUPS fail for the DETC accreditation, will that affecting their operation from CA. Will the government will give them second chance or they might facing possibility of closing down from CA.

    Shirley,

I think the best way if you would liek to know about it you should direct contact DETC or SCUPS.

As it has been explained before, DETC does not release the information untill all reviews and updates are complete. The normal time frame is one month (as a mimimum) from the meeting untill DETC posts it. Now the individual school can make an annoucement earlier (as CCU did).

The offical DETC notice will probably not be up untill July.

Do you mean that the individual institution knew the result already??

I've asked SCUPS, she replied that they haven't got the result yet.

    Shirley,

I think for those submitted long time ago and it should be the time whether they will get it or not... I got a feeling that most of them had been rejected!

What do you mean for Australian... Are you try to ask the country of AUSTRALIA to apply for DETC accreditation. And once the baby had borned they will automatically entitlement for DETC accreditation!

    DETC accreditation

In fact, there are universities from overseas countries accredited by DETC. I've found from http://www.detc.org/degree.html#UNISA that University of South Africa has been accredited by DETC already. The Master/Doctor Degree by research is very affordable!

Well, the meeting has been over for some time. Any school that was approved would likely be very vocal. My guess is all school were deferred or rejected. We'll find out for sure in a couple of weeks when the DETC publishes the official public release.
