Would someone explain to me how Trinity could even be considered for accreditation knowing that they own this blatant mill? This is what I mean previously by Trinity's accreditation making the NCA look bad rather than making Trinity look good.

To me what is even more remarkable, than the NCA approval of TTS , is that qualified people with DMins from my alma mater , Western, and grads of other good schools as well would associate with this sort of shabby business. It is not adepto ex factum ("to aquire on account of accomplishment") but (scuse me ) adepto ex rectum.

    Russell,

I needed a good laugh, so I checked out your link. If that isn't the most RIDICULOUS thing I've ever read, I don't know what would be! Just when I thought my opinion of MDS couldn't be any lower...

This is one Divinity School that I'm pretty sure the Master would be ashamed to claim...

This thread is being much too critical!

First, the school is ,after all named , "Master's." But no one can call Jesus 'Lord" except by the Spirit (1 Cor 12). Therefore, the school must be of God! Certainly no good Christian would or could bear naming a bad work by His own good Lord's title!

Second, MDS can lead to no further impropriety. There is no worry about being on a slippery slope. One has already has reached the bottom there! There is the advantage of MDS! It shows where indifference about rigor goes! MDS performs that necessary function! Further, as most all of us can agree about MDS it shows the unity among us whereas a discussion of TTS elicits only disunity.

Third, a work must be judged also by the virtue of those who do it, not just by the supposed lack of virtue of the work. But those who do MDS are many of those same who also do TTS, which is now virtuous sans Liverpool. So, MDS cannot but be honorable too because honorable persons are doing it! To condemn one work would condemn morally the other. And we all know the other's morality.

Fourth, likewise, to affirm an untruth breaks a commandment which church leaders just would not do (1 Tim 3). But these church leaders say MDS is a quality work. So, it must be either that MDS is credible or that church leaders must knowingly lie! The latter hypothesis is simply too hard to entertain. So, MDS must be good!

Fifth, Christians are not to judge another's convictions (Rom 14--"who are you to judge another's servant"). These church leaders and those who flock to enroll in the MDS programs are convinced that MDS is a good work. If we judge that MDS is a crock, therefore, then we , not they, are the guilty. In fact, MDS may be our Sanctifier because it occasions and reveals our judgmental nature which then we can cut off!

Sixth, MDS is a missionary effort. As evangelists bring the Gospel to the unevangelized, so MDS brings the doctorate to the uneducated! To criticize, then, MDS is to criticize the work of the Church!

Seventh, we must simply must start looking at this in perspective . Just as the logic "TTS is no Dallas" must absolve the deficits in the Trinity DA , so the logic "MDS is no TTS" must pardon the deficits in the MDS DD too!

  11. I totally agree. You are absolutely 100% correct. Anyone who does not agree must be a mill shill.
