KWU $25 million in 2003!

I have been very reluctant because of my past experience here to post anything about KWU, and I have just avoided the topic.

Because I paid my tuition in full in the beginning I have continued on at KWU though I also started back 4 semesters ago taking accredited online courses. I thought by working from the inside, and advocating for change at KWU on the pub that maybe KWU would at least work on changing issues concerning credibility, and may even seek accreditation. The latest has made me come to the conclusion that the only way KWU will ever change is if they are forced to or shut down, or if they get enough outside pressure.

This is testimony before the senate about KWU. I can attest that the LT. Commander Gelzer summed things up quite well. I am sure that I am going to take even more abuse from some people on the pub that would praise KWU even if it was found to support terrorism, but right now I really do not give a rat's gluteus. If KW is going to continue to ignore student's concerns in house then I guess the blinds have to open so the outside can see in.

Do you know how many if any other schools that are on the investigation list? I know KWU, CCU have mentioned in the investigation.

Thanks for the post and the link, Scott. You aren't the first or the last to make an unfortunate decision in these matters. If it were me, I'd have quit doing anything at KWU, figuring that wasted money shouldn't be supplemented by wasted time. Perhaps your choice, figuring that since the money's paid you might as well get something out of it, even if it's knowledge of the sadder-but-wiser variety, has something to commend it, too.
You know what makes your post stand out? Guts. That's exactly what millists, shills, and trolls completely lack. I appreciate your honorable candor and wish you all the best.

I always enjoy your posts and ideas. We all need to make our own choices and I am sure your's are right for you. Just glad to have you on the journey.

 

I believe that the truth about KWU will eventually come to light. I hope that the owner is prosecuted and put in jail for his academic fraud and the duping of thousands of people. Will he ever actually meet justice? I don't know. I feel more sympathy for KWU victims than the victims/co-conspirators of other degree mills though. Unlike most other degree mills, I have to believe the KWU victim when they claim that they didn't know it was a degree mill. Okay except possibly those rich businessmen in SE Asia that are getting KWU degrees for zero work.

I think the way KWU market it so successful due to it advertise together with those accredited state university. I had seen it from Yahoo Higher degree promotion that promoted it together. If you can have look into it it advertise together with AIU, UoPhoenix and some others 6 RA school. I think Yahoo should consider only for accredited school instead of everybody also can do it through the channel. Sometime POP UP! This is surprise!
