Do All of these "Foreign Degree Evaluation Agencies" own their own degree mills?

This one is owned by Matthew Clark, American Evaluation Institute

    http://www.saintjohnuniversity.org/aei.htm

Buy a degree from this flaky site and get it evaluated as US RA with no questions (he owns both)

And then there is Dr Prade who owns AUAP and his own degree mill in France. His "school" also has an office in Florida.

Aren't these just a bit of a conflict of interest?

Fully Accredited by the Central Government of Cameroon

The concept of "GAAP" continues to unravel.

Saint John University (whose name is a cunning rip-off of the New York City university) has this to say on their 'accreditation' page:

St John University is fully recognized / accredited by The Central Government of Cameroon and certified for USDA Research.
All degrees from St John University are evaluated as equivalent to a US Regionally Accredited degree. This evaluation is accepted by the majority of Universities for further study and teaching positions, employers, INS, and the military. St John Graduates in business can be certified to sit for the CPA exam in 49 states in the US (all but California). St John graduates in education qualify for teaching licenses in the US.

    http://www.saintjohnuniversity.org/accreditation.htm

    Their homepage tells us:

We are the Accredited Seminary and University for the Byzantine Catholic Church Inc. NOT Roman Catholic

Ownership by the Holy Patriarchate of the Byzantine Catholic Church Inc.

Supervised by The Sacred Congregations Of Seminaries and Universities.

Deans Clark and Tang of the Seminary and University: Welcome You.

    http://www.saintjohnuniversity.org/index.htm

    The 'Degrees' page tells us:

Saint John University is authorized to issue Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate Degrees on campus and via nonresidential, distant learning.

Degrees are offered in Liberal Arts, Business, Education, Divinity, Theology, Agriculture , African Studies and Languages, European Studies and Languages, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering , Information Management, International Education, Technical, General Sciences, Parish Nursing, Sciences, Flight School and Aviation Sciences (ONLY Flight School in ALL of Africa), Commerce and Business, Liberal Arts.

The only flight school in all of Africa??? Yeah, I believe that.

They tell us that they offer on-campus programs. Unfortunately, I couldn't find an address for their physical campus anywhere on their website.

    This is cool:

    http://www.saintjohnuniversity.org/staff.htm

Our Professors Speak Many Languages including: English, French, Cameroonian, Hungarian, German, Russian, Farsi, Spanish, Italian, Aramaic. Students may study worldwide via distance learning in all languages. St John University is the first and only program to offer accredited degrees in all languages.

Doctoral degrees, in every subject, in every language?

    Amazing!

Here's Ethnologue's list of language names, starting just with the letter 'C':

    http://www.ethnologue.com/language_index.asp?letter=C

A stupid degree mill like UC Berkeley could *never* hope to pull that off. Bwa ha ha ha! Eat your hearts out.

It is odd, though, that I couldn't find the language named 'Cameroonian', despite this supposedly being a Cameroon university offering instruction in that language.

The proprietor, Clark, is an episcopus vagans, that is, a private individual who has become a bishop or archbishop of nothing in particular. Use the term "episcopus vagans" to do a search if you want more info on this general phenomenon. Clark's e-mail address bears this out: exarch=bishop in Byzantine parlance and Matyas=Matthew in Hungarian. Needless to say, this has precisely nothing to do with legitimate Byzantine Catholics under the jurisdiction of the pope. Also, the attempt to represent Hungarians as culturally Byzantine is wildly wrongheaded. Perhaps Mr Clark relies upon the tendency of many Americans to see central Europe as mysterious and exotic to enhance his glamor.
Nothing about this school or its personnel screams authenticity.
    Beware!

    Saint John University says:

Degrees are offered in... Flight School and Aviation Sciences (ONLY Flight School in ALL of Africa)...

I can't resist pointing out to them that Thunder City in Cape Town SA, a private group that is the owner of a legendary collection of restored former military jet fighters, has teamed up with (CA-approved!) National Test Pilot School to operate a test pilot academy in Cape Town.
