A story in today's Education Week (requires free subscription) describes the relationship between Career Consultants International, Saint Regis, and Sheila Danzig.
    It's a long article; there's more information.

    I like this.

I couldn't help but think of a wife from some credential evaluator that came on here and was insulting everyone when it was alleged that her husband evaluated SRU favorably. Too bad Mark isn't here, he would have already posted a link to the fun post.

In kind of a perverted way, Mr. Contreras was wrong about his statement, wasn't he? I mean I'm sure that Shiela Danzig had done her research on SRU and knew that her evaluation were bogus. :D (He forgot to say "legitimate" evaluation firm.)

Liz i mean shelia i mean oh i dunno what I mean.... Sent me several e-mails asking if my company would find SRU to be equivelant.

The whole fish wife think is funny, now, but not when it happened. She spent most of her time attacking me.

I have to say that this is the best article on the subject I have read todate.

Sheila Danzig was a consultant for SRU? I'm shocked, shocked, I tell you.

Career Consultants International’s relationship to National Success Marketing Inc. and Sheila Danzig was first reported on this forum (see here). Apparently, quite a few people read and rely on DegreeInfo as a source of reliable (verifiable) investigative information concerning distance education.

I should point out that, although it was fairly obvious that Shelia Danzig was operating CCI as Liz Ross and Elizabeth Ross, I did not comment on this when I first revealed the association, because, according to the Florida Department of State, Liz Ross or Elizabeth Ross had not been registered as valid fictitious names. In fact, to date, they still have not been registered.

Therefore, if Sheila has now admitted doing business as Liz Ross or Elizabeth Ross in the state of Florida, it is quite possible that her use of such pseudonyms (or, as she put it, “business names”) is, at best, highly questionable, and might actually be illegal. The relevant Florida Statutes (known as the "Fictitious Name Act") may be found here. Moreover, one has to look no further than the convoluted paper trail of some of her previous ventures (National Success Marketing, Inc., Degree.com, LLC, Oxbridge Limited Partnership, Euphoria Lifestyles, and many others) to see that Sheila doesn’t even have the excuse of not being aware of the requirements or procedure to register a fictitious name in Florida.

Sheila has more than one "business name" (aka psuedonym) that she uses. I can't offhand remember the other one that's been bandied about, but it has been mentioned here.

This woman never ceases to amaze me. I should stop being amazed, because it's clear that she is simply amoral, and apparently cares only about who will give her money, but I still find it absolutely amazing that she can continue to justify consulting for fraudulent schools, shilling for other fraudulent schools, and selling the various crap of highly dubious value that she's been busted for by postal authorities over the years.

But perhaps the visibility of her company in the recent St. Regis scandal will have the same effect on her credential evaluation operation as the ill-advised Levicoff lawsuit did in taking MIGS down.

Or, better yet, perhaps the 12 Georgia teachers who relied on her credential evaluation could sue her for fraud and/or misrepresentation. It would seem to me that there'd be a pretty strong case there.

Eyes light up and fingers cross at the great opportunity to dance a jig in celebration as another scam artist bites the dust. ;)

Sheila committing fraud? Why, I, too, am truly shocked . . .

But perhaps, rather than the teachers suing Sheila, she will sue them. After all, no one has been able to take Sheila down in a lawsuit better than Sheila herself. (Especially if she gets Enrique to represent her.) :D

    Who re-opened a five-year-old thread and why?

Teddy - is that anyway to greet a newbie? I believe that in your day you've opened a few old threads yourself, n'est pas?

Hi aliannahfth - While Ted's question may have been just a tiny bit harsh, he does have a good point. It is more than a little unusual for a newbie to dig up a five year old thread and make a generic/nada/nunca/nothing comment as their first post on this board. Hey, wait a minute, now I'm the one being a bit harsh.

8000 posts can make a person wary!

    Hi Kizmet -

I don't think Ted's being harsh here - it's just his 8000+ posts of experience talking.

Often (not always, and I hope not in this instance) an ancient thread, revived by a first-poster's vanilla comment, is a sneak-entry preceding a scow-load of SPAM or similar evils. I was on another forum today and one first-poster opened 52 old threads in one day!

Ya Think? I've banned more spammers on this board than I (or anyone else) can count. :AR15firing:

BTW - that micro exchange between Teddy and I (two Mods) was over three months ago. Why are you digging it up now? :jester:
