One slight problem with scanning IP addresses is that many operations web sites are run through proxy servers. So that the actual site is located at a different location, but the proxy redirects the search. If this is the case, the actual UP address for the site may change day by day.

As to the domain registration, it indicates that Trinity does not own title to the site, but is having some one else do that.

While many organzizations do this, it is indicative of a small bussiness, not exactly what you would expect of a college.

The phusical mailing address is also indicative of some one who is running a business out of their bedroom, agian not what you would expect of a college that has been in existance for years.

 

Albert Wainright is Brett Loebel's alias, a fact he stipulated when a radio interviewer tracked him down. When Ashington was pretending to be located in the U.K., the original domain was registered with the Wainright name.

Many of the listed domains are businesses owned either jointly or individually by Loebel or his partner in TC&U, Gus Payne. Several of these were at one time recommended by TC&U with no mention of their affiliation.

Advantage is Advantage Web Services, another Loebel entity, since administratively dissolved for failure to file an annual report.

 

and Blue Pearl Services is the office -- ostensibly some sort of temp services agency -- in Delray Beach, FL, from which the business is actually run. Comparable name in Idaho through which some money is laundered.

 

Further complicating matters, ARIN, the folks that delegate IP addresses to ISPs and bandwidth providers, have rules in place that require ISPs to not use individual IP addresses for run-of-the mill websites; they are supposed to use one IP address per server unless specific services (secure server, anonymous FTP, a number of others) that require an individual IP address. (The concern is that we're running out of IP addresses, and the new addressing scheme, with *much* longer IP addresses, is only routable on a small portion of the Net at this point.)

So it's quite common to find that the same IP address hosts 50 or 100 or sometimes even 300 different websites, which may have absolutely no affiliation with one another except that they happen to be sharing space on the same web server.

However, in this case, it seems clear that the Trinity operation has a dedicated server of its own that shares one IP among all of the unwonderful businesses mentioned.
