a question always come across my mind is: why western diploma mills can always find their ways in China.
In order to understand this phenomenon, one has to look into the chinese pyschological perspective towards education.
first of all, chinese weigh education as the highest value, parents willing to save all their money to send their children to the best universities. secondly, the increasing globalization some how confused Chinese people. To be modern and to be westernized becoming a new type of popular culture. therefore, the traditional ethical, aethestics changed into a sort of semi-western form.
people believes that holding a western diploma means one is capable to do things better and of course becoming as a non-typical Chinese person, thats what the modern culture in China prefers...

I regreat to ear about this. Our westerm system is destroing the cultural treasures of the ancient nations. I am working on India with a foundation and there you can have the same problem. China is one of the oldest nations all over the world and with one of the most important philosopy, art, culture and medicine. This global artifical world finally will kill all of us globaly also. Here we have a said: "It is much better to be a head of a mouse that to remain like a lion tail". But it seems that the tail´s lovers are legion actually.

    Distance Learning in China

The irony to me is that I read a book recently called Higher Education Through Open and Distance Learning in which perhaps the most impressive account of a country's distance learning system was that of China by Dr Ding Xingfu from China's Central Radio and TV University.

His mention of a system of degree by examination was particularly intriguing. Anyone know more about it?
