I can not understand what Oregon is trying to prove with this (LIST) My self it sounds like Oregon has became Hitlers domain!!!!
I was born there, but now I try to hide the fact....
    Thank You

My sentiments entirely, but do expect to be abused and ridiculed by 'the gang' at DegreeInfo - who many believe control the ODA list.
The infamous Oregon list really has nothing going for it. It is very seriously flawed and does not stand up to any sort of scrutiny.

Do you disagree with the Oregon law that says that unaccredited school degrees must be equivalent to standard degrees before they can be legally used within the state of Oregon? With equivalency to be determined by the ODA.

Or perhaps you disagree with the ODA decision to put examples of unacceptable degrees on their website?

    Perhaps there's another reason?

In any case I would be interested in your explanation as to why you feel that the ODA has come under the domain of Hitler?

:D I note that fnhayes won't even say who this gang of six even is. I guess if he attempted to name the six then the contact with reality might dispel some of his paranoia. :D

Perhaps you would like to point out some of the serious flaws that you seem to claim are so obvious?

Normally I just laugh off the rantings of the gentleman from New Zealand as the product of an uneducated buffoon. But, by God, when he writes
    -------
'the gang' at DegreeInfo - who many believe control the ODA list..."
    -------
he turns out to be absolutely right.

    Non-Oregonians Seen as Controlling
Oregon's Official List of Illegal Schools

Salem, March 23. Oregon Press Service
The results of a statewide poll of Oregon residents, released today, show that the majority of Oregonians believe that the "official" list of degree mills and other illegal schools, published by the state, is actually controlled by three men who do not even live in the state

To the question, "Do you believe the official Oregon list is controlled by
    (a) people within the state Department of Education
    (b) John Bear, Rich Douglas, and Bill Huffman

1,377,212 people chose (b) and only one chose (a)--and he happened to be an itinerant duck-killer from the South Pacific, on holiday in the state.

I love Oregon - a beautiful state, probably my most favourite spot in the USA. But hey, if you're happy picking potatoes in Idaho, that's your call buddy!

    Cheers,

Hayes: Any respect I had for John Bear has gone down the sewer.

Voice faintly heard from the sewer:
Gee, what took you so long? I was expecting this a few weeks ago after I posted the 'fable' about "Effen" buying his degree. Perhaps you missed it or didn't understand it:

All the ingredients that have me hooked on DegreeInfo are in this very thread. I've gotten a good 15 minutes of laughter out of this delightful thread and the ODA thread today. I mean just sitting here and laughing out loud.

I wish to sincerely thank everyone that has posted in this thread.

This question is ludicrous, John. Any logically thinking person knows the answer is "b".

    1. - "Hitlers" should be "Hitler's."

    2. - You can still dig potato(e)s in Suffolk County, New York.

    3. - Neither did Elmer Fudd ever shoot a duck.

Yes he did, during the episode where bugs and daffy argued over whether it was duck hunting season or Wabbit hunting season.

He got his beak blown off once, and i think his feathers on a seperate occasion.....

While I realize that much of what is being posted concerning this matter is in jest, today I must set the record straight.

The Web site maintained by the Office of Degree Authorization is not controlled by John Bear, Rich Douglas, or Bill Huffman. I am the sole person responsible for the content of our Web page listing Unaccredited Colleges, as well as for the classification of each school.

As some of you already know (and others may have suspected), for several years I have been posting on this forum under the fictitious name of Gus Sainz. Now that the new format of our Web site upgrade is complete, I have decided that, although I will continue to read the messages on DegreeInfo and rely on it as a source of information, this will be my last post on this forum.

To all of those who have provided me with valuable assistance over the years, I extend my deepest thanks.

    Thank you

    Mr. Contreras,

The Web site maintained by the Office of Degree Authorization is a great source of information. Your Distance Learning "Undergraduate Business Degrees" Web site is another valuable source of information.

Thank you! I hope your absence from DegreeInfo will only be temporary.

    Mark,

    What can I say? :D

    Oops!

Anyway, I meant what I said. I think both Web sites are great and I hope to read many more posts by Gus.

Wow! I think this is a first. An individuals' first post, which is also the first post of the thread invokes Goodwin's law:

Goodwin's law of internet newsgroups postulates that the longer a thread runs the closer to unity the probability becomes that someone will reduce the argument to the term of "Hitler" or "Nazi."

When that happens, Goodwin's law states that the person to introduce the term be declared to be the loser.
