Bircham is bogus. In some places it may be illegal to use a Bircham degree. Search these forums for the full story.

Embry-Riddle may be as close as you'll come to Aeronautical Engineering by distance learning.

One problem you wil have is that there are very few undergraduate engineering distance learning (DL) programs from accredited universities. Often this is a specialty tacked on at the masters level (in DL).

You might need to persue a general engineering or engineering technology degree at the BS level and then go on to aeronautical at the masters level.

There are a limited number of undergraduate DL engineering programs, but several engineering technology programs.

I found no schools offering a Bachelors in Aeronautical Engineering through distance; however there are a number of schools offering aeronautics related programs or engineering/mechanical engineering programs:

Aviation Maintenance Technology- Thomas Edison State College (TESC)
    Aviation Studies - Excelsior
Aviation Flight Technology - TESC, , Indiana State Univ
Aeronautics - Embry Riddle Aeronautical University
    Engineering - California National University
Mechanical Engineering - University of North Dakota
Mechanical Engineering Technology - TESC, Old Dominion University

The following schools offer Aerospace Engineering at the Masters level through distance:
    Auburn
    North Carolina State University
    SUNY-Enginet
    Univ. of Colorado-Boulder
    Univ. of Virginia
    Virginia Tech
