OPM plans new fake-degree seminars

In some instances, Ezell said, people have transferred credits from diploma mills to legitimate schools, which in turn have accepted the credits and applied them toward legitimate degrees. In those cases, the legitimate schools unwittingly provide transcripts that conceal the fact that the graduate did not do substantial academic work to earn a degree.

As a result, registrars and admissions officers are very interested in detecting bogus credentials. Legitimate schools have in the past rescinded degrees granted in such circumstances, Ezell said.

Does anyone know whether these cases were recent or long ago?

I'm confused. The article said that John would be doing a presentation next month in Vegas. Next month is March, and I know for a fact that the AACRAO meeting is in April, which aint next month...... Oh well, looking forward to that presentation.

You know what would be a great idea. Have the conference streamlined for video consumption. I am sure that many of the topics would be great for us to view and discuss here. I wonder what the prospects of such a happening
