Thanks to all the excellent information that I received in this forum from a lot of wonderful people, I was saved from making a grave mistake. I almost registered at Kennedy-Western!! I was duped/mislead by their slick marketing campain. Thank God I found this website!!:D I am proud to say that due to the members of this forums excellent advice regarding accreditation, I enrolled with Baker College Online. I am forever gratful! Thank you for your help in this matter Mr. Bear and Gang!

Congratulations on your choice. It is a daring and daunting undertaking; good luck!

It is essential to select a properly accredited school to ensure you are dealing with a legitimate school and will receive a degree you will be able to use. While this can be done at some unaccredited schools, it is difficult to discern which, and you will always run the risk of embarassment or having your degree not accepted/recognized.

Taking a degree from a nationally accredited school is more of a mixed matter. On the one hand, one should never be ashamed of such a degree. But one can also anticipate some situations where the degree will not be recognized/accepted. Closer to regionally accredited schools/degrees than unaccredited, sure. But limitations still exist. I'm not convinced that a reasonable and supportable argument (like cost savings) has been made for pursuing such a degree. But some DETC schools seem to be attractive nonetheless for their student-centered approaches and willingness to serve the customer. For those willing to accept the limitations inherent in their degrees, they might make fine choices.

Again, good luck in your studies! :)

Best of luck with your program!

Baker College doesn't get much play here, but everything that I have heard about it has been very positive.
