I have been viewing many of the postings on this site and have gained a great deal of knowledge and respect for most of the members. I have come across many articles that state, “Employers are not aware of the non-legitimate degrees out there” and I thought why hasn’t anyone come up with a system that allows employers, HR reps, or anyone interested to determine the creditably and legitimacy of such degrees. I am wondering if I have missed it, are there any readily available organizations that offer this kind of service. I also would like to know what the feasibility of starting this kind of service and how well it will be accepted and utilized. The system will work like this (not written in stone)
    1. Provide services to local, state, and federal agencies to evaluate the academic credentials of their prospective and promotable candidates.
    2. Advertise via Human Resource magazines, newspapers, Internet.
    3. Provide the service for a nominal fee.
    4. Be fair, firm and consistent and without prejudices and bios to all inquiries.
    5. Be prompt and accurate with supporting documentations.

So, let see how this goes. As I stated, I do not know if they are a private agency that does this. Nor if this will be workable. Lets see how this goes. Let me know

    Thanks

    Many such companies already exist.

I'd been working at one job for a couple of years when an e-mail was sent round that the administrative assistant needed to photocopy everyone's diplomas, so our credentials could be verified. The verification was done by an outside company.

    profitable or not

I am still wondering, is this type of agency in demand and how many are in existence? Is it a profitable venture? Thanks for any information:confused:

Anyone can determine whether or not a university in the U.S. is properly accredited by going to CHEA. You click "Institutional Database" and follow the prompts. You can search for individual schools, schools by state, etc. You'll get the name and address, url, and accrediting agency of each school. You will also get a link to its accrediting association.

    Oh, and its free. ;)
