The flag of Liberia now flies over Delaware!

St. Regis University is now listed as being located at 1812 Marsh Road, Suite 6-242, Wilmington, DE 19810.
    {http://saintregis.edu.lr/contact.htm}

1812 Marsh Road is the Branmar Shopping Center, and Suite 6-242 is a Pak
Mail outlet, located between the Friendly Gift Shop and a Super-Fresh
    Supermarket.

This address is also listed as the address of the Official Transcript
    Archive Center {http://www.transcriptrecords.com/}.

As an Air Force officer, I would get the "with all due respect" line a lot. I used to joke that when someone says "with all due respect," he/she's about to disrespect you.

It is interesting the Mr. EdMan would use his first post to attack another poster. This is unusual.

Mr. EdMan, what is your affiliation with St. Regis? Your post would indicate a significant one.

    Dr. Bear,
I wonder if the state of Delaware has any legislation in place to deal with these fly by night bogus schools? Most diploma mills tend to rely on the "mail box" or "outlet" site to conduct their business. Perhaps they (SRU) are testing the waters in Delaware to see if the fish will bite?

The previous address, also used by "University Services Administration" was

611 Pennsylvania Avenue SE, Suite 211
    Washington, DC 20003-4303

Attached is a photograph of this address; note that "Suite 211" has been erased!

Actually I have NO affiliation w/ SRU. I am "degree-less". Having worked over 25 years in the work place and only having 33 undergraduate credits from St Leo, not St Regis, I find myself looking at degree options.

This forum was recomended to me as a good source for such information. The reason for my remark to Mr. Bear to "get a life" is related to my amazement at how much time is wasted on this forum pursuing whatever it is you all think you are accomplishing.

I have read through personal attacks, accusations of lies and so on and feel it is a waste of time. With the collective knowledge, skill, education and experience of the people that participate in this forum, I would like to think gretaer things could be accomplished.

Please do not make the same old assumption that becuase someone has a different perspective that they are automatically what you all like to call a "shill", I beleive is the term you use.

It would be refreshing to see all the talent here used for more productive end means.

    and what do you do?

If you take a look at the FTC's injunction against the University Degree Program, you'll find that their flotilla of garbage scows sold degrees in oncology, emergency medicine, plastic surgery, and so forth. Given our federalist system, it's hard for governments to suppress this sort of thing. For a variety of reasons, some have chosen this matter (making public the details of enterprises that will put scalpels into the hands of the untrained) to be their issue of choice.

Other things are important too: one can write urgent action letters for Amnesty International, for example. Perhaps we tend to fight battles we're best equpped to fight.

Out of curiosity, what do you do to make the world a little better?

I would say that IS his life.
The guy writes books on this topic you know.
Discussion boards are informative and fun. Not everything has to serve some grand purpose.

    Huh?.....

The assumption was made because out of the blue you made the very same attack you accuse others of making. It is ok to have a different perspective and voicing it in a calm professional manner. However, your display is not in line with someone having "25 years in the workplace".

If someone on this board prevents another from wasting their hard earned money on a worthless degree that is a worthwhile endeavour.

    Dear Thomas Edman,

Dr Bear is one of the most respective voices in distance education. It would not harm you to listen to what he has to say. His advice has helped countless others( including myself). This forum is for all to read and understand, no matter how what belief. I am not out to attack you, but please be respectful of others as well.

And you're the arbitrator of that? After one post?

Decrying the "personal attacks, accusations of lies and so on" is fine, but when one employs just such a method in doing so, it is hypocritical.

I look forward to your contributions to the "gretaer things" (sic) and "productive end means" you will bring. Welcome.

    Dear Aunt Maud:
As always, you are right, white, and uptight. I am a worthless wastrel, this I know, 'cause you always tell me so. If I did not waste so much time I would have more time to waste. I know you think my friends and I are a bunch of juvenile delinquents, but it's not true. We are too old to be juveniles and too lazy to be delinquents. So there. Richie didn't drive his motorbike through your still in the backyard on purpose; it was a research project. That nice Mr Bear was just helping, too. I am sorry about the crick in your neck you got from watching the neighbors through the blinds. You might want to try a heating pad or something. Kissing your hand as always,
    Your Carpathian nephew,
    Janko

    Yeah, a real knee slapper...

My apologies for all of the wrong assumaptions I made regarding Mr. Bear and the rest of you. After pouring over the posts not only here but on Google, I again recall what I dislike about the arogance of education.

    So long

The CompTIA VP with a St. Regis masters degree claims the degree from Worcester, Massachusetts.

    Very uncool

O.K. So that whole affair was extremely uncool. I have never met Dr. Bear but from the very moment I picked up his book in 1998 the man changed my entire life. As a absolute ADD freak with way too much trivial knowledge and undocumented education, I could only shiver when I thought of sitting through class after class that I could easily teach and probably better than some who were teaching me. If not for the intellegent life's work of Dr. Bear, I would have probably bought a PhD from a mill and just waited for the bowm to go off.
Where else are these issues being discussed with real challenge? Is there another discussion group that isn't in some way a subtle front for another stupid ripoff?
To attack Dr. Bear is just plain wrong. The man is at least kind to even the nastiest of "millers" and those who run them using terms like "less-than-wonderful" when the actual words of description are much stronger. Thank goodness for this board, think of the lives spent working toward degrees and cridets that are worthless and how much good these pages do by exposing the crap.
So, I believe he has a life, and one that you might at least respect.

It's interesting that they call their Delaware address "St. Regis Administration". I'm guessing they needed a better way of communicating with their customers than channeling their correspondence through what is apparently their business agent in Monrovia.

St. Regis' Indian address in Bangalore is also interesting. Is this a new development?
