To paraphrase Pontius Pilate, "what is reality?"

Given the rising tide of taking ourselves with overweening seriousness (some folks are Bears, but some are just overbearing), I thought that a bit of bizarrerie might perk us up.

    What is humility?

"...this humble man is continuously working to ultimately propagate the Gospel of Christ through his revivals, teaching and preaching, mastering of ceremonies and managing Gospel Recording Artist wherever he goes."

    Heh.

I also noticed that he cut and pasted in a hurry while creating his website. His list of "other seminaries" is alphabetical, yet only runs from N-Z.

P.S. Janko, hope your doctoral quest is going well (in Classics or whatever).

It has always struck me as very ironic that some of the most blatant mills I've ever seen are "seminaries" or "bible colleges".

It almost makes me have a (very small) measure of respect for people like Ron Pellar, who made no bones about swindling people, and didn't hide behind a pulpit. Just in Mexico. :D

Thanks, Dave. I appreciate the good thoughts. After a regrettable incident of topic theft by a prominent prof at an overseas RA-equivalent university, things may be looking up closer to home. When the thing is finished, I'll discuss where and how that happened. Until then, mum's the word. I don't want to boast prematurely nor to recommend by example a path that turns out to be fruitless or an ethical snakepit (as Torquemada and this fine Antipodean den of thieves). BTW, if anyone ever posts that they're about to deal with either of these fine institutions, I'll warn them privately and with alacrity.

I think both the quiet course of action and the anonymous status are wise. I recall a comment made here some time ago about, "I'll tell your doctoral supervisor how poor your statistics abilities are, and won't you catch it then...". I can't recall the context (the recipient may indeed have been a dullard), but it makes me glad that both my identity and future plans are not general knowledge. There are already enough potential pitfalls in research doctoral programs as it is.
