International University for Graduate Studies

I know this one has been discussed before but their Ad confronted me in Christianity Today.

I looked at the tuition which seemed okay for a PhD degree program accredited by some small island and with likely limited utility but then if I read their materials correctly, you actually have to do the coursework at accredited institutions and transfer it in. Get real!

They have begun to run ads in the NASW national newsletter. The ads state that they specialize in working with students who are ABD. IIRC, the president of the school is a woman named Norma Ross, PhD who doesn't list the source of her own degrees. While this, by itself, does not mean much, the entire package seems to have a vaguely familiar odor...
no courses offered, just assessment and dissertation?
St Kitts and Nevis accreditation
undocumented credentials of owner/president?
Circumstantial evidence I suppose but clearly I'd have some questions to ask before I'd sign on the dotted line.

IUGS has a full-page advertisement in the most recent edition of Christian Counseling Today, the magazine of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

 

The web address registration infomation indicates that the address was registered to "Smart Parenting Solutions" in Stamford, CT. The address indicated an apartment number.

The address http://www.smartparentingsolutions.com does not load. If you take a look at http://www.youcansayno.com/ and scroll to the bottom of the page you'll see a book image and a statement saying "Published by Smart Parenting Solutions" with a link button to SPS, however it doesn't work. Smartparentingsolutions.com is registered to the SAME street address as iugrad.com.

What is that street address you might add? Well, if you're driving by it you'll see:

Have a look at this link: http://home.netcom.com/~craigce/glenbrook.html The photo of the apartment complex would almost make for a great university photo. But, sadly, this "university" only rents a small apartment in said building.
