UK mills - information/update

The follwing were all based in my area (London Borough of Tower Hamlets). Most have moved out or stopped operating as far as I know

Stafford University (was 10 College Terrace)
University of Dorchester (was 10 College Terrace)
Shaftesbury University (was 10 College Terrace)
South Atlantic University (was suite 50, 10, College Terrace)
ECHOE (was 10 College Terrace)
(European Committee on Home and Online Education)
Bridgewater University (suite 210 Coborn Road)

10 College Terrace has been converted from small offices to residential use and there is nothing to link residents with these bodies.

Two others that were closed down by Enfield Trading Standards in March last year apparently restarted in May in the next Borough
www.sheppertonu.org.uk and www.sherwoodu.org.uk. The postal addresses on their web-sites are bogus, being part of the addresses for genuine universities.

ECHOE has at least 2 sites, .org and .org.uk which have a page called 'members' which is a list of genuine universities 'borrowed' from a now defunct Open University site , with the names of a number of dubious institutions inserted.

Unfortunately, because of the hysteria about privacy it is extremely difficult to obtain addresses from telephone numbers (reverse directory lookup) in Britain, apart from the Channel Islands where such listings are part of the public telephone directories.

Reminder for those looking at UK institutions:-

the accreditation is via a Government body the DFES www.dfes.gov.uk.

If you see a website ending with .ac.uk this is a genuine site on the academic network, although some genuine bodies may have other addresses. .ac by itself is the country code for the Ascension Islands.

 

any chance you have a digital photo of 210 Coborn Rood facility?

I have a scan copy of one of their fake diplomas....and would love to get photo of the building to take to court here in Chicago

I will have a try. I miswrote the address, it is actually Suite 210,, 3 Coborn Road.

Suite 210 is actually a mailbox facility at 3 Coborn Road (Len's mailing service, previously referred to on this Board).

This company has a president with a "Master of Science in the Field of Environmental Health and Safety Administration" from Shaftesbury University:

I'm reminded of Dr Strangelove's saying that after a nuclear holocaust, it might be possible to keep specimen human beings alive at the bottom of some of our deeper mineshafts.

 

We had Korean televison down to interview me and film the buildings but my cable company doesn't carry that channel so I do not know if it was broadcast!
