Hello. I'm a new member. My name is Todd.

I need some help. I received my Master's degree from The University of Southern Queensland through distance learning. Now, I'm applying for a college teaching position in the United States. On the application form is an item which states, "Candidates with foreign degrees must submit formal evaluation statements from an approved agency certifying the equivalency to United States institutions."

Can someone point me in the direction of these 'approved agencies?' I know USQ is accredited in Australia, and I've been to the Australia Office of Higher Education website to verify that. But I take it documentation from AOHE is not what I need.

What agencies certify equivalency to US institutions?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What field is the degree in; some agencies only certify
    foreign degrees in certain fields.

Not all colleges approve the same agencies. Don't waste time and money: contact the college and ask them which agencies they approve.

    Certifying Agencies

Try the American Evaluation Institute in Long Beach, CA... A Dr. Mathew B. Michael Clark, ScD is the Director of Evaluations. I contacted the Idaho Board of Regents to ask about their acceptance of AEI's evaluation and they were very pleased with Dr. Clark's services.

In my experience, it took about 5 weeks for the evaluation after I sent in my documents.

    Good luck,

    Avi

No, don't do that. Mathew B. Michael Clark is closely associated with Saint Regis University (rejected by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers). See http://forums.degreeinfo.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8747

I have to agree, plus you can usually get an evaluation back (depending upon where you go) in about two weeks.

I used Educational Credential Evaluators, from Milwaukee, WI, for my University of Western Sydney master's degree. http://www.ece.org
