John Bear, prof at UCB?

According to a Las Vegas Mercury article today:

Dr Bear did his Bachelor's at UCB, but I don't think he's a professor there. Otherwise, this is an excellent article on diploma mills.

Work release?

 

Dr. Bear has bachelors and masters degrees from UC Berkeley and was formerly a professor at the University of Iowa, not UC Berkeley. The reporter made a mistake. Interestingly, Dr. Bear's degrees are in journalism and communications.

I got an e-mail notification that Dr Bear replied to this thread shortly before 3 a.m. Pacific time on January 3, but his post never showed up. I'd like to know what he said.

 

I've done several posts that never appeared. Perhaps I am being selectively censored?

I just responded briefly to decimon's "Work release?" comment, which was funnier than he/she realized -- since I did do my required psychology internship for Cal with a prison psychologist with his office in San Quentin (Leon Tabory). But contrary to the reports on other forums, I did go home every afternoon. Indeed that closeup look at prison life for one semester would be enough to dissuade anyone from a life of crime.

 

It's "he." I've never even been to a truck stop. Honest.
