Schools candidate eager for chance in Derry

Candidate for superintendent of Derry Twp (PA) school district has "doctorate" from Heed.

 

Is HEED still functioning?

 

My uncertain impression is that it is not. The president, Nathaniel Willis, is dead. The website has not been updated in some time. The Wisconsin address is in a commercial mail drop which I also used when I was in school near Milwaukee. The psych school is the likeliest candidate for survival, but I don't know that it still functions. I cannot recall encountering anybody anywhere with a degree from the theology school. Nor did I ever know anybody around Milwaukee who had ever heard of the organization. Maybe it's all in Florida now--if it survives.

I sent them some e-mail inquiries several months ago, but never received any replies.

 

The theology school was B&M at some point, wasn't it?

The web site lists several dissertation titles for the PhD degree. I have no way of judging, but I think it's possible that some of these people worked pretty hard for their degrees. I don't get the feeling HEED was a diploma mill.

 

I was wrong. I received an e-mail from a Dr Roberta Slavin today, a professor in the psych school, stating that Heed is open and is accepting applicants. She did not elaborate beyond that statement, nor did she restrict it to the psych school. Since Heed is an old pioneer in DL, I wish them well.
