    Mike,

An interesting list and it demonstrates the amount of unaccredited activity that is going on along with the amount of effort it must to be checking up on these schools and taking action. Lets all hope Jay's work in this area continues to be funded.

A job well done by Mr. Brunton and the state of Hawaii. Now if only the other states would follow suit.

Remember that Hawaii has lax laws that allow these schools to start in the first place. What they have is serious enforcement.

    saywhut?

I am a little confused. If the mills are illegal once they open for business, how does the Hawaii code encourage them to get started in the first place?

Do you mean something to do with the legal requirements to open a business, in contrast to how the business is allowed to operate once it is on the books?

    thanks-

    Re: saywhut?

I do not believe it's illegal to open an unaccredited institution in Hawaii. I believe the legislation states that it's illegal to claim any form of accreditation that is not DoE/Chea approved. It's when the Hawaii schools do that with enrolled students is when they cross the line.

Hawaii, apparently allows anyone or anything to start a university with few requirements.

They do however take a serious interest in how they operate.

Interesting to see Kensington on the list. There is a faculty member at Argosy University (Nashville) listed with a Kensington Ph.D.
