Does this forum think that City and guilds is a diploma Mill? Their senior award is said to be equivalent to BSc or MSc degree depending on the level..

Do we think this is fake credential? what if a university offers a real degree using the same exact approach?

I am curious where the standards are on here

    sez who?

Out of curiosity, who says this? Take a look at the UK's Department for Education and Skills site here:
    http://www.dfes.gov.uk/recognisedukdegrees/wcoukd.shtml .

    Quoting from that site,
A school based in the UK which issues degrees as described in the Education Reform Act of 1988 is not legit if it's not in the DfES list. I realize that's not quite what you're asking, since you've posed a what- if- the- law- were- different question.

I continue to have the sense that the goal of your posts is to generate an argument that can be used to declare that the US accreditation/licensing practices are meaningless and should be ignored until they are scrapped. I don't mean to put such an aggressive edge into that statement, but I can't think of a more graceful way to put it. Would you be willing to share what's really behind your posts and questions?

I don't recall much discussion of City-and-Guilds here, nor that much of what there was was negative. Galanga is right: only you can prevent forest fires.

    City & Guilds of London

City & Guilds is one of the UK's most prestigious qualifications authorities and has held a Royal Charter since 1878. Since then
C&G has been a world leader in education and is an organisation that is usually very well 'up with the play' in the educational arena.
C&G qualifications, and the organisation itself, are generally very well respected all over the world and if C&G claim an equivalency with their Senior Awards you can believe that to be the case.
C&G was discussed quite recently on DegreeInfo and determined that Roy and myself are C&G 'graduates' from way back.

Forgot to mention that if you click-on to
    www.city-and-guilds.co.uk
then on to Qualifications, then on to Senior Awards, you can view the C&G equivalency qualifications.
