    Victoria Brooke University

Lists several 'partners', none of which seem to have web sites. Yet.

    • Mc Gill Higher Secondary School
    • Cambridge Matriculation High School
    • Xavier Institute For Higher Learning
    • British Commonwealth University
    • Croxley Heritage University
    • Bishop Hibel University
    • Worstricht Christian University
    • University of North Central
    • University of Gulfcoast

The phony accreditor is the Euro American Accreditation Council for Higher Education, which states - "We also follows recognition from these bodies:" to include The American Public University System.

Hi Bill - It seems to me that I remember a girl from my undergrad days named Vickie Brook and that she also had a number of partners . . . . . you don't suppose???

The same advice applies to either - keep your hand on your wallet, and use protection. :)

This is legal University I have proof

Yes, I graduated from This this university and i spent 3 years to receive Bachelor degree from VBU. I study in their campus at London. THEY'RE not asking ur money. I just attested my certificate in UK embassy in Malaysia. I also have registration copy for this university and it's really under BPUS.

It may be legal, but it's not a real university.

Incidentally, I was interested to see that many of their web pages say "Copyright (c) 2002-2005". They must be living in the future!

Re: This is legal University I have proof

Perhaps you'll share the campus address?

Of course it is, BPUS (the British Public University System), Victoria Brooke, and the related fake schools all being part of the same operation.

It isn't often one runs across an operation this transparent, but the folks behind this one have an open directory at http://www.ac-edu.org/ . :D Almost takes the fun out of it. :)

The source code for the BPUS pages contains a link to the Universidade Fernando Pessoa in Portugal.

jamaldn, this means you got your degree from a non-accredited College/University. How did you got your documents authenticated ? I dont see this University listed as a recognized degree awarding body.

The name Victoria Brookes University is probably used so as to confuse with the legitimate Oxford Brookes University.

The BPUS thing looks so official and real but stinks to high hell.

If one doesn't know about accreditation one can easily be duped.

Re: Re: This is legal University I have proof

Although the now reregistered domains indicated that this operation is run from London, the degree-granting authority (as with most mills that even go to the trouble) comes from the business charter. In other words, for $500 (or whatever the going rate is) the Commonwealth of Dominica has allowed them to create an off-shore business with the word 'university' in its name. As it's not permitted, VBU has no presence on the island, and no existence anywhere other than on the web.

The domain registrations now reflect an Inglewood, CA mailing address. So we have a group of 'universities' with American domain registration addresses, incorporated in Dominica, pretending to be British, and located on the same server in Malaysia.

I agree this is legally registered in Dominica

I agree this is legally registered in Dominica because I saw in registration form. Victoria Brooke University Inc. But how can my degrees attested by UK embassy as legal to UK govt rules? I did it myself in UK embassy, nobody do it for me.

when you say attested do you mean that they certified your documentation copy ? You walked in and presented your original documentation and photo copies, right ? You can have any document certified. They will look at the original and based on the original they will certify your photo copies. They are not validating your degree in any form.

    Question

    Hi Jamaldn,

How did you hear about this university? Where you approached by an education agent? Did you go to an education fair? Where do you live?

    Cheers,

    George

VBU does not price is doctorate programs as noted on its cost-- an interesting omission.

Also, have they really been around since 1876? Doubtful?

Re: I saw at British Council

Interesting. They are NOT an institution that is listed - see: http://www.britishcouncil.org/ecs/members/institutions.htm

Nor do they fall into the membership criteria - see:http://www.britishcouncil.org/ecs/membership/criteria.htm

The most recent British Council Education Fair in Malaysia was held on the 15/16th November - see http://www.britishcouncil.org/ecs/events/2003/1001/

    When did you see them?

    Cheers,

    George
