    From http://www.aiu.edu/:

I don't know anything else about this school, but you should view the above statement as being a problem.

    HI address?

AIU lists a Hawaii address on its home page and describes its accreditation as coming from the "Accrediting Commission International (ACI)" on its page https://www.aiu.edu/apply.htm. I wonder if that runs counter to HI state regulations?

ACI does not publish its list of members, and describes itself as "...primarily a religious school accrediting agency."

An interesting comparison: look at the AIU admissions page here: http://www.aiu.edu/admisions.htm and compare it with the University of Switzerland page here: http://www.swissu.org/admissionspage.html. They're nearly identical.

One of Richard Hoyer's websites says that Harvard is not accredited. Of course Harvard is. Oxford and Cambridge are the same thing as accredited being legally established, state sponsored universities. The Sorbonne?? - who knows - it's French.

As they say, caveat emptor. Personally, I wouldn't go to that "school" with your money.

You may want to flip back to the degreeinfo front page and click on the section that offers articles on distance learning. The ones related to the regional accreditation system and evaluating DL schools might be especially usefult to you at this point in your quest. Good luck,

Atlantic International University? Operating from Hawaii?

You probably shouldn't study geography at this school.

Isn't AIU the non-accredited university that was featured so prominently in Peterson's listings a while back?

I know. It's listed by the French Ministry of Education at http://www.education.gouv.fr/sup/univ.htm, and to my knowledge it is illegal to operate a legitimate university in France without such a listing.
