Take a look at their Faculty page:

So far I can recall, Dr. Bawa Suleman - Agent & Consultant, Asia Office -- was an agent of famous diploma mill Trinity College University.

Trinity and Ashington are both owned by the same two guys, thus George's amazement. Ashington has been a farce since the day it was created, pretending to be a British school.

The Louisiana Board of Regents has really had the wool pulled over their eyes on this one.

    what else is in Metairie

Well how about that! We know what else is in Metairie, LA, namely the mail forwarding address for American Coastline University at 5000 West Esplanade Avenue, #197. (This is, or was, a MailBoxes Etc. franchise.) It would be hugely entertaining to have someone in the area photograph the Ashington U "campus" so we can compare the reality with the painting at

    Re: Maybe

I would be nearly certain that this message is posted by a shill for Ashington.

There's no way that any competent HR person would accept an Ashington degree... and as for the statement that unaccredited schools have a better image overseas... yes, unfortunately, that's true.... many, many of the worst schools out there spend lots of money advertising in Asia and, in effect, stealing hard-earned cash from unsuspecting (and often trusting) Asian students seeking a legitimate degree.

Is there a way to contact the Louisiana Board of Regents about this matter?

    Maybe

I don't know exactly the quality of Ashington University. But It seems quite good for distance learning. Means americans should not follow their program. You know, some unaccredited institutions in US even have better quality and image at overseas country. I heard from my niece in Australia about how degree from Ashington can be used for employment, even it's limited to certain companies. Yeah, at least it will not become lousy inside frame on your wall. Isn't it????

    Re: Maybe

How interesting. Would you be so kind as to tell us which Australian companies accept this degree?

    Cheers,

Andyjs, do you tend to favor Metairie enterprises?

    Hi Andy,

Out of curiosity, are you older than 20 and do you work on behalf of an unaccredited university? Besides boosting TC&U in another thread, you comment favorably on another Metairie, LA institution, namely Ashington. Perhaps you have a sense of the third unaccredited enterprise located there: American Coastline University. Would you like to offer your comments on ACU?

    Possible problem

I can see why posters here are 'reluctant' and 'wary' regarding Ashington but have they not simply complied with the minimum requirement of Louisiana's laws to operate? If you look at the license, they have it for 2 years. As I understand things over there, this is the time period during which they must seek regional and/or DETC accreditation. So, if they can comply what's wrong? They are offering a very limited curriculum area so they may succeed and get accreditation. I think we must leave the door open for two years to see what happens. If folks start contacting the Board are they then not allowing 'due process' to occur if they revoke the license? I think that's (due process) the term used in the US.

    Just my point of view.
