This was previously discussed in this thread. It is indeed serious that the Public Service Commission has deemed Knightsbridge University degrees to be worthless. Also of great concern was the fact that there was “no trace of a matric certificate or junior degrees leading up to the doctorate.” In other words, someone with a 10th grade education proceeded directly to earning a doctorate from Knightsbridge. That’s one dissertation I would like to see!

Of course, we all know how simple a matter that is. All you have to do is complete the "proper form."
I have two Masters theses and PhD dissertation (authors, titles, dates) that I'd like to request if I can only get my hands on one of those elusive forms.

Not quite. I can't find the post now, but Henrik indicated that dissertations were available as long as they were not on the restricted list (or something like that.)

My bet is that a dissertation becomes restricted by being requested.

A bit of a google search yielded the following information; research projects that resulted in grad degrees from Knightsbridge:

Chitaukali, W.N. Small mammanls of the Nyika Plateau, Malawi.
    MSc thesis, Knightsbridge University, 2002

Kavalika, M. Distribution, taxonomy and field ecological studies og mole-rats, Cryptomys spp. (Bathyergidae, Rodentia) in Zambia.
    MSc thesis, Knightsbridge University, 2001

Kinder, R.G. An evaluation case study of a computer based method for occupational analysis and inductrial restructuring.
    PhD dissertation, Knightsbridge University, 1996

I may wait until I see what happens with the "Old Lesbians" request before I make any additional requests. Of course, others are welcome to take the initiative if they're so inclined.

What kind of research skills can an individual posses if he or she is incapable of finding a single reference after being given the miniscule (in length) document in which it is located? Can an individual be so inept and still conduct the work necessary for a legitimate Ph.D.?

    Folks,

With the volume of posts on this board, and particularly with the ongoing joe-job spam attacks, the last thing I have time for is moderating and removing posts with personal attacks in them.

DegreeInfo is not a place to attack one another There are plenty of other boards (or, for that matter, a.e.d) where you can do that.

We've been really lax about enforcing this, but I guess that Bruce and Bill and I will have to make time to do this -- time that could otherwise be used to do other things to make DegreeInfo better.

We shouldn't have to do that. As far as I know, everyone who posts here is an adult, and everyone *ought* to know how to keep their disagreements focused on the *argument topic* without resorting to name-calling, swearing at each other, personal attacks, snide remarks, or other inappropriate language or actions.

An inappropriate comment, flame, or personal attack by another person DOES NOT give any user license to flame or attack back. The appropriate response is to report the post, and Bruce, Bill and I will do our best to address the post in question, contact the poster and warn him/her, and in general try to keep things fair.

If we have to, we will simply start suspending or banning people that can't treat others respectfully, but this type of posting simply will not be tolerated.

That said, we don't have the time to read every post, so we will rely on our regular users to report posts that are inappropriate. Please start doing so.

    Thanks much for your cooperation.

You did a very fine job by deleting those obnoxious posts. We need to grow up!

The thread where Henrik responded has been deleted. He was surprised to see this link and has demanded of accrediting.com to remove it. Since accrediting.com is associated with Dr. Chief Swift Eagle and "accredits" all kinds of institutions without their knowledge or consent, I agree that the link tells us nothing about Knightsbridge University's interests.

Have just received a message from '[email protected]', subject 'School Removed', and in the text body 'no other message'.

Apparently this is a standard thing.

What irks me is that the thread 'SA official did NOT lose his job ....' has been removed. I'll post it again. The title of this thread is deliberately misleading.

The title of this current thread is, as our friend Maxine Asher would have said, a fallacy. (Anecdotally, Maxine once sent me a stern letter asking me to 'decease and desist'. I'd think that having done the 'deceasing' the 'desisting' would come pretty much by itself).

    Henrik,

If I would have had more space for the post subject, perhaps I should have written:

Investigation of South African official, prompted by his "worthless mail-order diploma" from Knightsbridge, leads to the loss of his job.

Seems accurate to me, but I gave a link to the articles. People can read and decide for themselves.

And perhaps I should have thrown in that apparently, according to this article, the highest legitimate education the person in question attained before being admitted to Knightsbridge's doctoral program was the 8th or 10th grade.

I'm tempted to order a copy of his dissertation. I'm also tempted to order an Everlasting Gobstopper from the Willie Wonka factory.
